About Counselling #01

What Counselling Is About:

Therapy is a unique relationship between client and therapist where you are encouraged to talk about and explore your feelings in a secure environment, often difficult to find elsewhere. It is increasingly being acknowledged as a very effective way of dealing with personal dilemmas.

As a counsellor, I may be able to help you to understand experiences both current and from the past which may be affecting you today and which may continue to do so in the future if left unexplored.

We can examine your concerns in order to better understand your strengths, build on them, and find ways to make the changes that you want.

My aim for therapy is not to give you instruction but to help you make sense of what you express and what you feel; to give you options and choices, and, if possible, to help you come to your own solutions.

I work in what is called a psychodynamic way where the therapist and client sit facing each other.
